Currently on view at the New Mexico Museum of Art through September 5, 2021, the exhibition "Breath Taking" showcases contemporary artists’ interpretations of the physical and symbolic act of breathing using materials including clay, paper, ink, earth, video, photographs, and watercolor.

Ms. Ideal's process is both intentional and accidental. An unplanned shape or tone can appear and affect the entire work. The tension of rejection and acceptance is simultaneous. An accident is not necessarily a mistake.

Alcoves 20/20 No. 1 related intrinsically to the original purpose of the St. Francis. It is fitting that the original ethos of the physical and spiritual connection between human beings and the animals of land, sea, air are emphasized in the portraits of Diane Marsh which were on exhibit in Alcoves No. 1.

Together they are essential for sustenance, support, and solace. Together they are the basis for the visual art of Marietta Patricia Leis and the verbal art of Robert Macfarlane.

Heather McGill, whose works are on display in ALCOVES NO. 2 at the New Mexico Museum of Art until February 9th, 2020, is a master of reconciling such opposing concepts of: fact and fabrication, individual and mass produced craftwork, conventional female and male artistic expressions, history and modern technology.
